This is the only one I know of and I'm not sure what they cost, but you can pre-order one and it takes about 3 months to get it to your FFL.

The rim cartridge does not lend itself to being super reliable in semi autos unless in huge guns like the Desert Eagle. The Grizzly is more 1911 like but I've heard though accurate its not that reliable and its huge.

A compromises would bee the 357sig which is available in a lot of brand from Sig to Glock to XD, almost the same ballistic in a more reliable package. Just a suggestion.

The .357 Sig isn't available in a 1911 platform, and if a 1911 is what you want (and who doesn't?), then the .38 Super is as close as you can come in readily available guns, with nominally the same bullet diameter. If you want a 1911 with equal or superior ballistics, to the .357 mag, without regard to bullet diameter, then look at the 10 mm models.

Sorry but that plan does not make any sense to me. If you are buying a 1911 pistol get it in an auto pistol cartridge caliber or don't get it. I had a friend who bought a Coonan .357 auto and it was a jam-o-matic. Coonan went out of business for a good reason; they didn't work. Although I understand that Dan Wesson arms might be making them again for some dumbassed reason. .357 mag is a revolver cartridge and that is where it should stay. If you want an auto with different ballistics then look into a pistol in .38 Super, .357 Sig or something like that, maybe even 10mm. In the long run you will save time money and heartache. Or if you are just looking to have more than 6 rounds then look at some of the revolvers with 8 round cylinders like the S&W 627 V-Comp at the bottom of this picture.

So would you be able to fire .38 special from that as well? Or would that be even more problematic since it is a shorter round?

I don't think so. You can't fire 40 s&w out of a 10mm and the difference there is length as well.....
