    Default Carry policy at Hollywood Casino???

    The wife and I are joining some friends there on Friday and I am curious as to their policy on firearms. Does anyone know? Thanks.

    I'm only making an assumption, but I would be under the impression that casinos don't like arms on their property.

    § 465.14. Firearms; Possession With In A Licensed Facility. (Casinos)
    (d) Each slot machine licensee shall cause to be posted in a conspicuous location at each entrance to the licensed facility signs that may be easily read stating: The possession by any person of any firearm or handgun within this licensed facility without the express written permission of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is prohibited.

    But if I remember correctly there is no "punishment" for violating this law. I believe the worst that could happen is a trespassing charge if you fail to leave when asked.

    I've been hearing mized thoughts about carrying in the casino and I do believe zackattack784 is correct. Then again who knows what the cops might try to pull if they catch you. I for one believe the casino is one of the more dangerous places I go consider criminals knowing people have tons of cash on them. If you have a gun you can easily conceal and don't think anyone would ever notice I would carry, if your trying to hide a big 1911 and are printing I'd probably leave the gun at home and take your chances of not needing it. I'd be interested in seeing an actual law saying all they can do is make you leave.

    This has been discussed ad nauseum in other threads. To summarize:
    1. All Pa casinos must post a weapons prohibition condition of entry per 058 PA Code § 465a.13;

    2. Failure to post the signage per code is a violation of the casino operator's license;

    3. The code does not prescribe any penalty against the armed patron;

    4. If an armed patron is discovered, then 058 Pa Code § 465a.11(b)(5)(ix) mandates that the on-site PSP contingent be 'immediately' notified - that means you get to meet some of our finest up front and personal;

    5. If the signage is posted (which it must be by regulation) and you are armed, then you have made entry contrary to signage and, by that action alone, presumably violated the trespass statute (18 Pa CSA 3503); for this you can be issued a summary citation - there is no requirement that you be asked to leave.

    6. if you are provided the courtesy and asked to leave then refusal elevates the trespass from summary to M3.
    Bottom line - PA casinos do not allow armed patrons.

    Does anybody have any background on this reg? Like who had the bright idea that people carrying cash to blow at the casino have to remain defenseless? What the reasoning was behind the prohibition?

    It doesn't make any sense to me, after all, if we are licensed to carry we are licensed to carry, what makes a casino so special. I could see the casinos choosing to not allow open carry, just because with so much money changing hands, I would understand people's fears and I wouldn't want to get shot by a jumpy armed guard. But if the gun is concealed its concealed...

    I'd love to know what the deal is on the reg, if anybody has the skinny.

    Already made the mistake of going into a government run facility looking for prosperity... If that's what you choose, then that is what you choose.

    I know, some people like the idea of blowing money for fun, but still, your call to go in knowing you will be un-armed. The other option is to not patronize them

    I recently went to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh and saw no signs. Maybe I missed them.
