    Default RAIN! Beautiful, sweet rain.

This is awesome! It has been raining since 10:30 last night. It has been so horribly dry around here this summer. Although there have been rain showers, it seems like they always have gone to the north or south of the top of the Plateau.

It has been so bad that, when blueberry picking last month, the moss on the surface of the swamps was turning brown and the blueberries were actually drying into raisins on the bushes.

The groundwater monitoring well at Tobyhanna State Park shows that the groundwater has dropped over 6 feet since April.

Stuff you worry about when relying on a well for water.

We could honestly use rain like this for a couple of weeks solid.

I honestly can not remember a summer this dry

I was surprised when I got up to pee and heard it dripping onto the air conditioner around 3:30.

How close is the AC to the toilet? You need to start aiming better!

I didn't have to mow my lawn for almost 2 months. We really had NO rain here at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that.

And oddly, we aren't under a drought advisory.

What we need are a couple tropical depressions back to back. I remember back in '87 we had three in a row w/ less than half a day separating each. 12 days of rain.

Of course I had 14 days of standing water on the floor of my basement apartment.

Half our lawn is deader than dead .... going to have to rip all the dead crap out this fall and re-seed it.

Just when we had finally gotten the yard to look good.

Hoping the rain stops tomorrow. I wanted to get to the range. But like others have said, we really need it.
