    Default Apply for LTCF

I live in Montgomery County but I'm moving to State College to finish my degree at PSU. I didn't have a chance to apply for the license in Montgomery over summer because of work and school. I have the apartment lease under my name in State College but my driver's license will not be change.

Can I still apply for LTCF even though State College is not my permanent location?

I don't believe because it is not your county of primary residency. If you were to change your address to the address you live at in town then you should be good. Additionally it should be noted that PennDOT requires notification of a new address with in 15 days of moving.

I am a full time student at PSU ... my primary residence (driver's license address) is in Dauphin County. About a year ago I emailed Sheriff Nau asking him if I could get my LTCF in Centre County and he replied that he allows students to apply because he considers them residents of Centre County for their college years. I went to the office in Bellefonte and got the permit within 15 minutes... didn't even have to show any proof of my State College address or student status or anything. I think they're used to having students in this situation applying in Centre County. The only issue here is that you have to put your State College address on the form and it will appear on the permit, and this address is unlikely to be an address you're going to be at for a long time if you're a student. But that in no way changes the validity/legality of your permit.
