I lived in Edinboro for 5 years...Waterdrop is bad enough! Ya'll still have horse drawn snow plows your way, don't ya?

I'll save the good UC jokes when I bump into you sometime.

I technically live in Erie and spend several months a year here (lots of travel for work). I have been OC'ing all summer and have had no problems yet anywhere around town, nor do I know of any places/areas any buddies have had problems. Not sure what you know about Erie, but gun crime has been on a fast rise since the first of the year. If you end up/or will be around the lower east side of the city at all, I strongly suggest carrying as its gotten pretty hairy over there. Where are you staying while you are here?

I OC around town all the time. Convenience stores, Best Buy, Giant Eagle, a few bars and beer distributors... and yes even Ghetto Mart on the east side. If there's any spot in town where local thugs can (and should) be put on notice that citizens are armed, that's it. So feel free to stop in during your visit, preferably with something very large strapped to your hip. The staff there has become quite accustomed to seeing openly armed people in the store.

Anyways, I've never had any issues at all here with the locals. But I have yet to have an encounter with LE. I'm not quite sure how that will go, but I'm not exactly expecting it to be pleasant.

A local sheriffs deputy once told me during casual conversation that they "highly recommend you conceal".

OOOPS, I just now saw this thread. Sorry, busy weekend. I was actually in Ohio all day Saturday.
I hope the rain isn't hurting your fishing. You'll need the firearm if you come in contact with ZebraMussels, or Carp.
I have yet to OC, but rarely spend time in the "city". LEO's have been "getting the guns off the streets" due to some high profile shootings, which means they'll take it, run it against the "non-existant" registration database, to see if it's legal, and may or may not keep it. "Laws? What laws?"
Hopefully you'll have no problems, and survive. My guess is if you aren't in those 'hoods where there's trouble, you won't need to worry about it.
    Enjoy.
The most dangerous place in America is a "gun free" zone.

I assume this is in reference to ghetto mart? I haven't had the misfortune of going into that one for several years...I try to keep my business between the Peach and Edinboro stores.

I had a very small semi-encounter with a LEO two weekends ago while adjusting the sprinkler in my front yard on a sunday evening. He was cruising by, I nodded, saw his eyes catch my side and he stopped thirty feet or so past me and just sat there for a minute. He then slowly drove away but two minutes later was sitting at the corner of my street with an eagle eye on me. Another cruiser then 'coincidentally' drove past my house (its rare to ever see one LEO in my neighborhood, let alone two). He parked next to the other guy around the corner and the both just sat there watching me. I stayed outside and tossed the ball around for my dog for a bit to see if they would approach, but they ended up driving away after fifteen or twenty minutes. Other than that, I've never had any Erie LEO bust my balls (knock on wood).

Haha nice. I used to take girls there in high school when I couldn't sneak them into my parents place. There was a major drug bust at that Red Roof a few years ago.
