First time OCing and questioned at Cabela's!

Hi everyone! I have been reading posts for sometime since my hubby became a member and I decided to start my own acct last night. We (myself, hubby and 3 kiddos) went up to Cabela's to get some supplies for a girls day this weekend! Yes, my mommy friends and I are having a playdate with firearms!!
Of course while we are there, we stroll down "temptation lane"! Hubby sees something he is interested in and of course we have to pull a number. Hubby went to take our son to the bathroom so I stayed with the number. While waiting, I was approached by an older gentlemen and he asks if my OC pistol is "real". I replied "Yes" and he then says "Are you sure?" Well now I am dumbfounded. I just shook my head and he walked away. Not sure if he would have appreciated the full description of exactly what I was carrying or maybe I should have just told him it was a water gun!! LOL

Anyway, Hubby did walk out with a new piece that night and we all had a good chuckle!!!

Welcome to the forums, I have OC'd there many times and never had an issue.

WOW! That could be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Who wouldn't be sure if they were carying a real or fake gun?

You should have replied "Now that you mention it, I'm not sure. Do you want to try and attack me and find out?"

Side note i was there last month and two New York Cops asked me (civilian) if it was legal for them to carry in pa....

I carry a S&W M&P 9mm. That is what is working for me right now. This is my first pistol that I have ever owned. I started out with rifles at a young age. (My oldest daughter started this year!) My daddy taught me when I was little with the bb gun and a aluminum can. I graduated to bigger stuff did some competitive shooting in high school and thought it was time to get in touch personal protection side. So here we are!

I read about how stupid and naive ppl were "out there", but I didn't think that I would get it the first time I OCed. Maybe he just couldn't believe a female could actually carry...makes me want to do it more!!! Kinda glad that I didn't waste more of my air on him!!! LOL

Sorry guys, I don't have any single sisters, I am the youngest!
