Next Purchase?
I bet you all are sick of these threads, but I'm not asking what gun is the perfect gun for me, or what gun I should get to carry. I'm pretty much set. If it helps I carry daily, love to hunt, have an interest in SHTF scenarios, and love spewing cheap lead at the range. Let's assume you had the following:
30-30 lever
22 wmr bolt
22 lr bolt single shot
22 lr ar semi
5.56 ar semi
12 ga 28" pump
12 ga 18.5" pump
12 ga slug gun
357 mag 6 shot revolver da
22 lr 6 shot revolver sa
9mm semi
What would you purchase? I feel like blowing some cash this weekend.
- Guess this should have went to the General section since I didn't specify the need for the purchase or purchases to be pistols. Not that they can't be. Mods feel free to move, and sorry!Last edited by keystoneman 85; August 18th, 2010 at 09:13 PM. Reason: my bad

Re: Next Purchase?
I tend to try to minimize my calibers for logistics sake. Given that a camp 9 or similar 9mm carbine, a 22 lr semi pistol, a 357 lever gun would all be on my list. Outside of the caliber, logistics, limitation, a 30/06 or bigger bolt gun for long range work, 45 - 1911 and a compact 9 or other carry gun might also be on my list.

Re: Next Purchase?
Three things totally off the top of my head;
1. 1911 style pistol in 9mm. STI comes to mind.....
2. I didn't see an AK on that list....
3. A dedicated longish range bolt action tack driver in the caliber of your choice (.308 maybe?)
Good luck.I don't watch shark week. Sharks watch FLICK week.

Re: Next Purchase?
Save up your pennies and buy a really good .45. Its the one thing (besides an AK) thats missing. You could buy a 1911, you could buy an HK45, you could buy an FNP45, you could buy a Glock 21, the list is really long, take your pick and shoot the shit out of it.
The M1. Smackin' the bastards since 1932.

Re: Next Purchase?
A 1911 is my vote as well. BUT, it also throw out something in a overtly large caliber, think .44 magnum, .500 S&W, or .50AE. Really big guns are really big fun. Just sayin.
You could go out and get a relatively cheap .44 mag wheel gun, which you could use to hunt, plink, intimidate your daughters boyfriends... Practical applications are endless!!
Edit: Duh... I don't read very well. YOU DON'T HAVE A SEMI .22 PISTOL. GO BUY ONE!!! (Pssst, Ruger MKIII...)Last edited by rwb1500; August 19th, 2010 at 11:18 PM.

Marlin Levers
Start buying all varieties of Marlin 1894 levers! You need one in all your revolver calibers.
The .357 in stainless, blued, cowboy, octogon barrel are flat out fun to shoot and accurate to boot.
After you start piling up the Marlins in your safe, start buying single action revolvers to match your levergun calibers.
You've got "work" to do. Start immediately.

Re: Next Purchase?
Kahr PM9, or a M&P9c, or a .38 snubby..... the theme here is something concealable. alternatively, get something super-concealable e.g. LCP or TCP or the kahr equivalent. you need something to slip IWB or in a pocket.
