    Default m&p replacement barrel

I am considering buying a Storm Lake barrel for my M&P 9mm to improve its accuracy. Does anyone have experience with these barrels? Are they really more accurate?

I have a Storm Lake for my XD9
I have not really noticed a difference in accuracy. I bought it threaded for a a suppressor.
I had to do some minor polishing and smoothing to get it run 100%. and after about 500 rounds it's like butter. And still is 4k rounds later.

My threaded 1911 barrel will be at my place tomorrow from Storm Lake. It does require fitting though.

I am telling you this so you know that the barrel may or may not drop right in and run like a factory barrel. Check function and lock-up BEFORE you try to fire the weapon.

Mixed reviews on the barrel from what I have seen. One is on my list, but Apex and Bar-Sto are making one that might be worth the wait.

Buddy of mine just bought one and he was not sold on it, believe the problem is because it is a drop in barrel and not gunsmith fit. I think he said it tightened his groups up but not enough to really notice. The M/P 9mm he has does have approx. 15,000 rds through it at this point, I told him to contact Smith & Wesson and see what if anything they suggest.

Thanks, guys. Maybe I'll spend the money on a trigger job instead.

I think you will be happy buying Apex trigger parts, I am going to order the DCAEK for my M/P 40 very soon. Let us know what you think if you get Apex parts.
