    Default Stag upper

I will be buying a stag upper in the next few weeks to go with the lower I just built. I'm looking in to the model8 lefty. This website I believe it's ar15 sales.com has them for $799. Stag has them for $889. Should I spend the extra 90 dollars and get it directly through stag arms? Will the warrantee be the same no matter where I purchase it from? Any suggestions, advice, or comments?

Save your money. Stag backs up their products even if purchased through another dealer.
A Republic, if you can keep it.

Legal Transfers LLC (ar15sales.com) is top notch and VERY well known on the AR15.com forums. I purchased my 'kit' from them (everything except a magazine and stripped lower) from them a few years ago and it was smooth as buttah.

Word of advice, if you're gonna run a lefty upper get a spare BCG. A lefty BCG is not something you're likely to find on short notice if yours goes down.

    +1 on the lefty parts.

One of the reasons I don't get any of my "tactical" guns in left-handed format....not a very easy switch out for parts if you would find yourself in a tight situation.

Left handed guns would be nice but they are usually more expensive and I have trained so long with the typical firearms that I'd probably have to retrain myself to operate left handed guns as proficiently. I have a left handed muzzleloader, which I won't part with, a lefty Remington 870, and a lefty Remington 700 which I love. Even they took a bit of getting used to and every one of them cost me more money b/c they were left handed.

Back in the day I couldn't even wear my sidearm on my left side b/c of Marine Corps policy. We lefties had to wear standard issue gear and just adapt/train to function. I had to draw right handed and switch the gun to my left hand. Of course, I learned how to shoot right handed as well.

I don't see the point of lefty AR's. For fun....heck yes but overall I think they actually have too many drawbacks.

^This! They may actually be banned from classes by one of the top trainers soon from what I've been hearing.
