S&W model 59
Tanners has one of the above. (Was there Wednesday) It is one of the cleanest I've seen in a long time. They were asking $249 I believe.

Re: S&W model 59
That is a decent deal for a fine pistol. I grew up shooting a model 59 with adjustable sights. It handled everything my dad and I could throw at it, including his first set of reloads. It is a solid platform and an accurate performer.
I carried the same 59 I spoke of above for about a year when I was in college.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: S&W model 59
That is certainly a good deal if the gun is in good shape. The S&W 59 series are good handguns, a little bulky/heavy compared to poly guns, but well built.

Re: S&W model 59
The 59 was the first of the "Wonder 9s" as it would hold 14 rounds in a frame only slightly larger than the 39 (8 shot single stack). I have one of the early ones, no "dash" and it is still an accurate weapon. Why anyone wants polymer over steel (except for the German Walther 99s), I cannot work out he says, donning kevlar underwear and tin hat!! Dave_n

Re: S&W model 59
I've had my 59 over ten years now. To this day, it is still my favorite pistol. Fits my hand like a glove. And it is absolutely dead-nuts reliable. It has fed and fired everything I cared to run through it. I can't even recall the last time I had any kind of malfunction on this gun. Buy it, you won't be sorry.
