    Default Friends Kimber

One of my friends has a stainless Kimber and there's a discolored spot on the slide he says. I haven't seen it yet but going to look at it tomorrow. He keeps it in a serpa style holster so that shouldn't matter.

I know I'm a little premature with this thread, but does anyone know what it might be or what to tell him to do depending what it is?

When I see it, if I'm stumped, I'll take a few pics and post.

My kahr cw40 had a similar spot develop after a while on the top of the slide. It wasn't surface rust it was kind of under the finish if that makes sense. It was kinda small so it didn't matter to me but I called kahr arms anyway to ask what the problem would be. The kahr represenative told me they do not cover the finish as part of the warrantee. I no longer have the gun.

A lot of things can discolor stainless.

Usually, some oil and 0000 steel wool (go lightly) will buff it out.
