Abundance of caution- re: shipping long gun
Found this on the site:
Non-FFL
Intrastate (within a state) Long Arms (Rifles, Shotguns): A non FFL can ship a long arm to an eligible person or a FFL within the state via common carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) or USPS.
Just want to be absolutely sure I can send a long gun to someone in the state. I just pack it up and go down to the post office and tell them, oh, it's a shotgun?
Then there's the question: how do I know who's receiving it? (Eligible to buy/own a gun? Proof of age?)
Any comments/experiences/opinions appreciated.Last edited by RickD; August 10th, 2010 at 09:04 AM.

Yes, you may lawfully ship or mail a long gun to another person within PA.
Proof of age or residency - have them scan or fax a copy of their drivers license or LTCF to you.
Eligibility - there is no way to know for sure. Do you have reason to believe they are prohibited?RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
