Glock FYI - do not put your 17 slide on your 26!
Pass me the dunce cap.... I got my 17 slide stuck on my 26 in one of those brilliant what if moments of life. After detail stripping the slide with the slide on the frame and some careful tweaking and youtube searching I got the gun apart. On the plus side i know how to detail strip my slide... I had never done that before.
LET THE FLAMING BEGIN
I wonder if my 26 slide would fit on the 17 frame....

Huh?
So you tried to put your G17 on your G26 frame... why does that make you an idiot exactly?
If faced with both guns sitting in front of me I would have tried it already too. Why not? Everything else is the same almost. I'd chalk this one up to no harm no foul. You learned something, you didn't break anything.
So what.

A 17 and a 22, yes. A 26 and a 27, yes. A 17 and a 26, NO. Barrel length difference 1.03 in.

Does that mean you could get a 17 barrel and magazine and put it in your 22?
Interesting option if viable. Or are the ODs different?

Factory barrels do not drop in. They require the corresponding slide, or an aftermarket conversion barrel. OD is different.
You can get LWD barrels pretty cheap that will drop right in though.
I'd like to know where you bought the extra slide though tootie. ?
