First NFA purchase - Suppressor

I've made a verbal commitment to buy a suppressor for my 300/221 rifle- -shot some sub-sonic loads, suppressed with a buddy that had a YHM 762, and I'm hooked!

I read the sticky on NFA purchases, but have a couple questions.

I talked to the County Sheriff at the fair--seamed to be a nice guy, strong NRA supporter. I asked if he would sign my forms for a suppressor, and it sounded like he had never been asked to do anything like that before, but yes he would probably do that for me. (he's been the Sheriff of the county for a lot of terms, so that was kind of a surprise that no one else in the county has any NFA items) We'll see when the time comes I guess.....

I'm also thinking about putting a SBR together on an AR platform sometime down the road, which would be another NFA item.

Am I better off going for a Trust for multiple items? What do they cost, where is the payback? Or are they set up just to avoid the CLEO hassle?

If you have a Sheriff that will sign off on your print cards, i would save the money spent on a Trust or LLC for more NFA goodies.

If you are interested though, a member here GunLawyer001, seems to be very helpful with giving information on the multiple routes for NFA ownership.

I know of some people up that way who are NFA owners.. so there is more around.

I would agree. Unless.......

You have a spouse or children of age that you would like to be able to allow to take the nfa item to the range without you being there.
