is it ok to use 200gr +p GDHP in a RIA M1911A1?
Hey i was wondering if its ok to use +p 200 gr GDHP in my RIA M1911A1? i bought a box of 20 rounds , i want to get some information before i go blow my hand off! i checked the FPS and FPE it has a hair raising 518 FPE! and 1080 FPS . I have a FS 1911.

It was not rated for +p loads. But a good well maintained RIA 1911 can handle them. Though you will see increased wear. It would also be a good idea to add a heaftier recoil spring.
That said. 200gr+p can actually reduce the effectiveness of the shot."Kicking the darkness until it bleeds light."
