    Default Springfield xd

I have a Springfield xd40 4 inch service model. I am a left handed shooter. I always shoot to the right with this gun. I tried moving my rear sight a little bit and that time I was more to the right. My rear sight is now back to normal and I'm still shooting several inches to the right. Should I try adjusting the rear sight again? And which way should it go. Should it move to the left or the right if I'm looking down the sights? Oh I have a lasermax on this gun and when the laser is used the gun is dead on so it's not the gun. Thanks

move your sights to the laser dot. When you can look over the sights and see the dot on top, you should be good. fred

You want to move the rear sight in the direction you want the impact to move to; for example: if you are hitting off to the right and you want to go left--move the rear sight to the left. I hope this helps.

Thanks Saleen. That's exactly the answer I was looking for. I'll adjust them again and see what happens.

Not directed at you, just a public service announcement.

Don't move the sites until you know it's the gun and not the shooter.

Try adjusting you stance slightly first. Close your eyes and aim the pistol then swing it left and right and back to center, open your eyes and adjust your stance to see a good sight picture.
