thanks for posting those. very interesting. the numbers are certainly trending in the right direction.

i would note one thing, though...

i'm assuming these figures do not differentiate between resident vs. non-resident LTCFs issued, though.

since centre county is the go-to place for non-resident PA LTCFs, i imagine their per capita LTCF statistics are skewed by LTCFs issued by centre county, but not to centre county residents. my guess is that it is not the case that 23% of centre county residents over 21 have LTCFs.

just something to make note of.

Can you by any chance find how many LTCFs were revoked in Franklin County in 2007? I'm curious if I was the only one.

It would include licenses issued to non-residents.. PA doesn't issue "non-resident licenses", we just issue licenses to non-residents so we are all pooled together.

Wow, I wonder why Lehigh and Northampton county's are so low. Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton, we have some pretty bad areas around here. I mean its no Philly or some of the other major cities in PA but I know I feel a little more comfortable being armed. You think more would feel the same.

The PSP 2007 report doesn't state. Perhaps an RTKL request to the Sheriff or PSP might get that info.

I wonder what the official numbers for Maryland look like.

    7, 8 maybe?

Where did the numbers come from that were used to generate those tables? The source links don't work anymore.

Is there a way to find out the number of licenses issued/revoked per county?

Here's the Accumulated Data for 2005-09 mapped by colors...

And... As a comparison, I recolored the 2008 Map of that year's data with the same color legend as 2009 above...
