CZ 75 slide stop issue
Greetings,
At the range today during mag changes, when I slapped a new mag in, the slide released. I locked the slide back and smacked the mag well and it went home as well. Is it just worn or should I check something else?
There is 3k through it and I do use the slide stop as a slide release when changing mags.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

That's pretty normal on a lot of semi-auto's when they break in. You could get another release, but I prefer it when my guns auto-load with the mag change.

Re: CZ 75 slide stop issue
My CZ-75B does it as well (approx 6700 rounds through it), and has for a long time. If the slide doesn't release when I put a loaded magazine in it (it almost always does), I rack it back and release. So, I don't think it's related to using the slide stop/release. My SIG P229 did this as well. I wouldn't count on it in a moment of crisis, but I look at it as a "feature".

Re: CZ 75 slide stop issue
As the others have said, it is not unusual.
However, I would be cautious of doing this if it requires you to hulk smash / falcon punch your mags in. Yes, it might save you a half second...but can you count on it? Also, I doubt that would be good for your gun or mags in the long run.
This was said assuming "slapped a new mag in" meant a more energetic insertion (giggity) than usual. I cringe when I see people do this at the range, since 7times out of 10 they clench their dominant hand on the gun...including the trigger finger, which is on or very near to the trigger...when trying to accomplish this.
