    Default Confused about the S&W M&P 9

I thought I recently read that S&W made some changes on the M&P 9FS specifically changed the rear sight, the sear underneath the slide is silver not black and a mag release problem was fixed. The gun I want to purchase has a DOB of 9/2009. I called S&W and they claim there were no changes made. The SKU # is 209301. Does anybody know about this? I want to pick up the gun tomorrow.

Mag drop thing - I was under impression that thats perticuler to .40cal model?

The black/silver sear your talking about was called Rev.B striker - polished, one piece spring cap and flat area on each side of striker rod, where the spring cup rides. Also they radius the sear notch to striker. Used to be perfect 90 degree, which was prone to cracking(or something like that)

You can order directly from S&W, Brownell's, or Speed Shooter Specialties as well
    S&W Part number P/N 279770000

Make sure to get the complete assembly.
A bare new-style striker is useless to someone with the old striker in the gun. The spring cups will not fit onto the new striker, so theres no way you can install it. You need the liner, spring cups, and striker as a complete assembly.

My M&P9 was made in 06. Rev N model. my mag never droppd unless I wanted it to, and my striker never broke(7500+rds, and counting).
There are 2 different mag followers out - Black(oler design), and gray(new designe). all my 4 mags had black, but 2 of them broke - mag still functions fine. But rattled. one of the 4 protrusion on bottom of follower is prone to brakage.
One broke, so I called S&W, and they sent me 4 new follower.

the strikers were breaking under dry fire, never live fire.
