Default Tonight could be a good night for some carry.

Most townships in Lebanon County are having their National Night Out tonight. I plan on attending my local one, since it's being held on the Boro Playground area. I was also going to slip into Cornwall's, but they usually hold theirs at a church's property.

I plan on OC'ing in Cleona, and hopefully sparking some educated conversations with my neighbors, and police. I should def print out some flyers too.

I'm going to try to look as presentable as possible, and carry myself in a respectful manner. I know that it will be hard to avoid some negative opinions that people will have anyway.

I don't want a negative encounter to happen, by any means. I hope things go well, and I can spread the good word of PAFOA amongst the people.

Last year, I sat on the front porch stairs and cleaned my rifles.

Plenty of company tonight, everyone wanted to see the M&P 15-22, and one of my neighbors brought over his early '30s Parker shotgun...he bought it new as a teen!

We just blew out the candles(except for the one paper bag that burned down) and came in just a little while ago after lots of talk, three gallons of iced tea consumed and a good time had by all!

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) - An event dedicated to non-violence became the scene of a violent crime in New Bedford Tuesday night.

According to police, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed several times in the chest and legs during the National Night Out Against Crime block party, which was held at the Gomes School on Second Street.

The victim was flown by helicopter to the hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police arrested 28-year-old Monzes Gonzales after a short foot chase and charged him with the stabbing.

Gonzales was arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court on charges of assault and batter with a dangerous weapon. The judge ordered him held without bail. Gonzales is expected back in court Aug. 10 for a dangerousness hearing.

N.J. man gunned down at anti-violence event

August 04, 2010 PATERSON, N.J. (AP) — Police say a man attending a block party as part of the National Night Out anti-crime initiative was shot and killed in New Jersey's third-largest city.

Paterson police say 39-year-old Robert Godfrey was shot in the head while arguing with another man Tuesday.

Police on Wednesday are searching for Marlon Rochester. The 30-year-old has been charged with Godfrey's murder and weapons offenses.

Lt. Ron Humphrey says witnesses saw the two men arguing loudly when Rochester pulled a gun and shot Godfrey once in the head.

National Night Out is observed across the U.S. as an annual event meant to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness.
