Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
This a bump for the upcoming Appleseed Project being hosted by the Palmerton Rod and Gun Club.
First time for Palmerton to host an Appleseed. We would like to host more but need to have a good attendance for this one to show interest for further events.
Come check out an Appleseed.

Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
what is the "appleseed" thing?
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

A first rate rifle marksmanship and American heritage program.
Here's the PAFOA Appleseed sticky.
The links to the official Appleseed site are in my sig.

Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
Dredly,
The Appleseed "thingy" is the best value in rifle marksmanship training anywhere with the added bonus of a refresher course on American History.
2 days of training and instruction plus the cost of ammo for under $100 (for men) women, children under 18 and active duty military all shoot for free.
If you think your rifle skills are good take an Appleseed and see your fundamentals improve.
If you are inexperienced with a rifle Appleseed will instruct you in getting started and learning the basics.
If you know young people who would like to learn about rifle marksmanship and our American Heritage then Appleseed is a great way to introduce them to this lexicon.
If you have a wife or girlfriend who has expressed an interest in shooting Appleseed will get them started in the right direction.
If you like to shoot and want to spend a weekend shooting and having a great time Appleseed is the ticket.
Check it out. What have you got to lose.
It is the fastest growing rifle marksmanship training program around all in the context of our American Heritage.

Re: APPLESEED AT PALMERTON R&G
I wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago, I would have gone. Up until now the closest one to me has been Mannheim. Is this going to be a monthly event?

Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
Hey PoconoJo:
We have been successful in getting the BOD to commit to 4 shoots a year. I suspect if we can get enough folks to attend we might be able to pull some strings and get more events scheduled.
Please attend a monthly meeting held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30PM. Join as a member and then voice your interest in seeing more Appleseed events hosted by Palmerton R&G.

Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
I will make an honest effort to attend. Is is October 18? Can't commit for certain because my work takes me away for weeks at a time. If I'm around, I'll go. All in all, it's not that close to me (about an hour), but a lot closer than Mannheim or anywhere else I've seen Appleseed shoots listed. I know several people who might be interested as well. Their main opposition thus far has been traveling so far. Hopefully this will make it more appealing. The ultimate point is to get them held EVERYWHERE and I hope to get yet another series of events even closer to me.

Re: APPLESEED AT PLAMERTON R&G
Yes, PoconoJo,
Next Palmerton meeting is the 18th of October @ 7:30PM
Hope to see you there. Also keep in mind that Palmerton has plenty of room for camping on premise. If that helps for your attendance at an Appleseed.
Best,
twoguns
