Default There ought to be an appeals board when a member is banned.

To many times, including myself, and other members have been either temp or permanently banned by a single moderator of this board and I stronly urge that a review board exist to review the charges and make a determination rather than one mod being the judge, jury, and excutioner. And in addition, the member can make a appeal statement to the review board to be considered into judgement.

Thanks, I bookmarked the link. This is an internet forum but it sucks getting banned from this site over benign issues that the mods turn into a mountain.

You make it sound as though you're getting repeatedly banned, when in fact you received one warning last month, and haven't had an infraction (much less a ban) since March, an infraction which was subsequently reversed.

Not really sure what the problem is...

I'll also note that rarely do any Staff "ban" anyone. It is most often the automatic result of an infraction being issued. All infractions issued are visible in the Staff forum, so the admins can check up on us any time they wish.

In addition, there is the complaint process which has already been mentioned. This isn't a democracy.

Many staff actions are discussed prior. IE: not the "action of one mod".

And ALL staff actions are reviewed after the action, by the rest of the staff. So in effect your request has been granted in that it already exists.

There will always be assholes on the internet wherever you go and at one time or another you will have to deal with it. Sometimes you meet people who are reasonable and decent and other times you come across petty thugs who like to use their keyboards like clubs to pound on others with the modicum of power they hold in a particular corner of the cyber world. This forum is no different than any other place on the internet and is prone to the same bullshit by mods and users. You can try to voice your opinion but if its going to fall on deaf ears what is the point? Just let people have their delusions of grandeur and don't let it get it you. Its just not worth the time to dwell on it for very long.

By the way I have three fingers pointing back at me when I type this because I know its a lesson we all need to learn from time to time.
