    Default Good AR plinking scope?

I'm looking for a good plinking scope for an upper I'm eventually going to build.
    Some backround...
I bought a Bushmaster 16" fluted HBAR barrel a while back for my current build. I ended up changing my mind all together and decided to build a lightweight with a pencil barrel for defense, but the beautiful thing about ARs is, you pop two pins and it's a different gun, so i'm going to use the HBAR for another upper.
I know I'm sort of getting ahead of myself and peddling backwards, but I'd kinda like to have a plan before I start buying anything for this upper.

I'd like to build a tack driving 100yd upper to have fun with at the range.
I plan on using a YHM lightweight free float tube (because it's a good price, free floats, and still looks cool)
I'd like to spend in the $300-$500 range for an optic with mount.
    Suggestions?

If you want a full sized scope for 100yd pinking, you can look into Vortex scopes (http://www.swfa.com) or the Nikon M223 riflescopes. I have a Vortex on one of my ARs and it's been working quite well. I'm putting a Nikon on my C93...hopefully it's a decent scope.

For 1x optics, you can find a cheaper EOTech for around $450 NIB these days...but that's near the high end of your price range. You can find many red dots and reflex sights for less than that, but it really all depends what you want to use.

I'm looking for something similar that I will mount onto my carry handle, that way I can use the iron sites once my last battery has expired and the zombies are still coming for me. My old eyes can basically see that there is a target out there and I can hit it but it is too far to actually place the shots.

I found this optic and it seems to meet my needs. The reviews are mixed with some people calling it a poor man's ACOG.

Does anybody have this thing? What do you all think of the specs?

I have the Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x on my AR and I love it. Here's a link to product on MidwayUSA: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tnumber=191037

I've used this exclusively for 100 yard bench/prone shooting. I haven't had an opportunity to test it at longer ranges, but I have a feeling I'm going to want more magnification when I do. Still, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Before you go spend a whole lot of $$$$ check this out, go to different sites and read reviews.

I had a Centerpoint 4x16x44, Yeah, they sell them at Wal-Mart for about $70on my AR and it works great for 100y shoots

It's now on my 10/22 until I do the M1 Carbine conversion on it

I use the CenterPoint red dot sight on some of my .22's, not too bad of a sight, but I mounted it on my Hi-Point 995 and it sometimes gets brighter as you shoot due to recoil/shock and some loose electronics. It's pretty spot on with .22's, though.
