Sig Mosquito?
Anyone like to give feedback on the SIG SAUER MOSQUITO?
Looking at one...

Re: Sig Mosquito?
I suggest looking at something else. Browning Buckmark or the Ruger MKII/III. Search on www.rimfirecentral.com on the Sig and decide for yourself.

Re: Sig Mosquito?
JayBell points out in this post that the mosquito has a zinc slide, and that most of the people he knows that own one ended up getting something else.

Re: Sig Mosquito?
I have one, doesn't function with most ammo I've tried. Recomend Buckmark
or Ruger also.

Re: Sig Mosquito?
yeah, the thing isn't made for longevity at all, even with the steel inserts and such in the slide.
Plus almost every person i know eho bought one, no longer has it.
Like the Trailside Sig/Hammerli pistols, they dont live up to the sig name and rep.
Better off getting a ruger, buckmark, maybe a CZ75 Kadet...
try and get a quality all steel gun, or such.
you want a gun to last, at least *I* do:-)"Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Re: Sig Mosquito?
I have over 1000 rounds thru my new Walther P22 in just 2 weeks. The gun has been fantastic with zero problems. I don't know much about the sig, but think very highly of the P22 for a cheap fun gun. (extra fun with the laser)

Re: Sig Mosquito?
I have a beretta model 87 cheetah, which I originally had some problems with, but it turned out to be the crap ammo I was using. I've since switched to 40 grain 'peters' ammo, and haven't had any problems. I hear that the model 87 cheetah is hard to find these days, an may not be manufactured anymore. I'd recommend one of these instead of the mosquito, if you can find one.
