CCW renewal - York County

My CCW expires in January. Just wondering if I need to be 'pro-active' and go to SO and start my renewal or do they usually send you out something in the mail for you to fill out, etc?

I'm not sure how other counties do it, but Cumberland sends you something to let you know that it will need renewed.

The York county Sheriff's office should send you a renewal letter in the mail. You can't preemptively renew your license too early either.

18 PaCS 6109(f) - Term of license - states:

At least 60 days prior to the expiration of each license, the issuing sheriff shall send to the licensee an application for renewal of license. Failure to receive a renewal application shall not relieve a licensee from the responsibility to renew the license.

So, only if it's within two months of your license's expiration and you haven't received anything should you then take action.

They are supposed to send you a license renewal form (which is the same as the initial license application).
