Walmart has the best prices on FMJ rounds that I have seen locally.
Thats where I stock up on range ammo.

I get my JHP defense ammo from local area gun shops. Not the best prices by far. But no shipping charges or wait. . . So it all evens out. . .

The Wal Mart on the Carlisle Pike has Winchester White Box for like $23 for a box of 100 rounds. Sometimes they'll also have the bulk Remington UMC 250 packs for about fifty bucks, which is an ok deal. If you're talking about self defense ammo your best bet in our area is either Mechanicsburg Ordanance, or go over to Bass Pro Shop or Gander Mountain. You'll pay a little more at the latter two, but hopefully you're not buying self defense ammo all the time...

by "high quality", i assume you mean self-defense ammo.

for that, i check out a few websites including some of the ones mentioned above. last batch i got was federal HST 147gr 9mm from ammunitiontogo.com. i forget what the price was, but it was quite reasonable.

    for FMJ practice ammo...walmart.

(oh, and pitt is going to beat up on the 'eers this year at heinz field! can't wait...i can smell the hot sausages and dogs grillin' already. )

Also, for carry ammo. Just saw that I got an email from CDNN. $22.99 per box of 147 gr Winchester SXT Talon (50 round LE boxes). However, $13 flat fee for shipping.

I am guessing Cabela's is a little too far away. If you get to Wheeling, WV or visit eastern PA, stop by. Cabela's had a decent sale over Independance Day weekend.
