    Default LTCF Question

Hopefully someone has been in this situation to advise me. So I have my permit and I recently became a US Citizen, of course on my permit it has my previous country of citizenship. So my question is, to update this on my permit would I need to apply for a renewal and pay or can I just go in and ask them to update the change? Thanks in Advance.

Most likely, you will be required to complete the entire LTCF application process again. Call the York County Sheriff's Office to find out for sure.

You don't have to do anything, your LTCF is valid until it expires. If you really want it changed, go see the sheriff.

^^This, but I believe an "update" costs $3.00 or $5.00, can't remember exactly. It's basically an address change...but instead of street to street or town to town, you're going country to country.

When I moved I wanted the update so I had to pay a fee (basically to cover the cost of the new card)

Our sheriff is extremely good with handling LTCF matters, quick, efficient, and helpful. Give them a call if you really want it changed. I'm sure it could be done easily if that's what you want.

All this situation is, is a address change/replacement. You shouldn't need to go through the entire process again, all that you should have to pay is a nominal fee for the time and material of a replacement LTCF.

You shouldn't need to, but in at least a few counties you do have to go through the entire application process again if you want to update the address on your actual LTCF.

It doesn't even sound like an address change...just a change in the space that asks for CITIZENSHIP...from the OP's former country to USA

I'm assuming he is still living at the same address as when he first got his LTCF.
