Charter Arms - the OLDER ones.

Over the past two year, I've begun picking up some of the first issue CA revolvers. My first experience with one was over 20 years ago when a friend of mine let me shoot his Bulldog .44 3". Since that time, I've wanted a Bulldog. So, when the opportunity presented I got one. Then I got a .38 SPL UNDERCOVER, then a couple more of various configurations. Now I've got the beginnings of a collection and I've shot them all. Nice, solid guns and they have "character". Here's some pics of the one's I currently have. Anybody else have any of the older ones?

Nice handguns. I do have to say that the .44 bulldog I had years ago was one of the worst POS'S I ever owned. 50 rds and it was developing cracks in the cylinder, factory ammo, Federal 200 gr. as I recall. Traded it away around 1985.

I have an "Undercoverette" in .32 S&W Long. If the Charter collector market ever takes off, I'm sitting on a gold mine...

I guess you can get a POS from just about any manufacturer. I once had a S&W Model 915 that wouldn't group any better than about 4" at 25 feet and I also had a highly regarded Astra A-75 .40 cal. that began falling apart after about 150 rounds. I bought all my Charter Arms pieces used over the past 3 years - just because I liked the weight and the really fine triggers and actions on them. I've fired them all with no apparent problems, but not extensively - all less than 100 rounds. The only one that gives me a bit of a worry is the tapered barrel Bulldog
.357mag., which is a bit loose - that one has had 50 mid range .38 Spl rounds and 15 magnum rounds through it, and I think that's where it will rest. Prices are starting to go up on the used ones this year.

I currently own 3,carry one, two others for h/d.
Selling the 2" just because at 42 and on 2nd set of bifocals
I just don't shoot it as good as I used to.
Still looking f/Target Bulldog S/S in 3".
