Tec 9 help
I bought a Tec 9 a year ago and been fighting with it ever since I got it.
PO said it would fire fine and jam only once or twice out of the 32 rd mag.
So I got it home and cleaned the crap out of it. Looked like the gun had never been cleaned before. Stuff everywhere inside.
Now its clean and I go to shoot it and it jams like every round maybe every 5th round. Can never just fire it off with no problems.
Ive tried a handful of different ammo and its still hit or miss.
All signs pointed to the extractor not working properly, so I bought a new one and installed it. Worked a bit better but still jams alot.
Any thoughts? Ideas? I know these are not the most reliable guns, I just want it to work :P

Re: Tec 9 help
Is it a DC9 or a AB10?
I know you said you tried a couple different ammo's but did you try different types? HP, FMJ, etc.. Just makin sure you did.
Why I asked what model it was is from what I've heard the AB10's were never really reliable. Just what I heard though.Last edited by khankewycz; July 25th, 2010 at 10:55 AM.

Re: Tec 9 help
It's designed to only work with 124gr projectiles. Most all 115gr FMJ will not work well.
And only stick with Fed-Amer. Eagle, CCI Lawman, Winch super X. All 124gr FMJ.Wouldn't you like to know what's in my safe.

Re: Tec 9 help
Really?! 124gr?
Everywhere I was reading people said not to go over 115gr due to the plastic design of the gun. To avoid the dreaded cracking lower receiver.
Kinda makes sense, 115gr not providing enough kick to fully expend the round.

Re: Tec 9 help
Yeah, the 124gr has more umphff on the blow back. and the "quality" brass caseings have a thicker "wall" above the rim/extractor rim and this helps keep the brass case from expanding too much, and resisiting extraction.
Lesser quality brass/Aluminum caseings are much thinner and expand too much against the chamber wall, making it harder to extract the fired case and as such the bolt looses it's energy to properly function.Wouldn't you like to know what's in my safe.
