MASA Range closed?????

I went over 2 Friday's ago. When I got back to the range, a guys was moving fill to left. All I wanted to do was shoot about 25 rounds of 9mm from a new gun I picked up. So I walked over and asked him if it was ok to shoot, he said yea. He also thanked me for coming over and talking to him before I started shooting. He said he would take a little break while I shot my 25 rounds. Everything was cool

I usually shoot Saturday or Sunday mornings with my pop. It is a treasure for sure.

I want lie, i have sorta given up on the MASA range. Maybe am missing something but i have gone over a couple times when the range was suppose to be open and the police or probation were shooting at it.

Monday - Thursday is a bad time. Alot of police stuff going on. I'm pretty sure Fri, Sat and Sun are always open. I think when it gets cooler the police might lay low during the week.

I never had any trouble on Sat and Sun mornings. Pretty much have range to myself.

Make sure you're signed up for the range closing emails as well. I get updates probably about once a month.

On a side note, are you going to do the Manheim Tactical shoot next week?

Signing up for the MASA range closings is a good idea. You can go to Yahoo Groups and search for the MASA group and ask to become a member of the group. Sometimes the police departments don't give a lot of notice and the flyer doesn't post the date right away but the email will tell you. The PA Fish and Game Commission uses the range about 2 or 3 Sundays out of the year. I guess that's the only time they have so you need to check the dates. They are not always listed on the MASA website because of the short notice but the flyer at the entrance to the range is usually up-to-date.

Took the wife and I out there to work on her shooting this saturday.

No closings posted, but the gate was opened :|

So we went and signed in and got ready to set up and I heard the sound of a bulldozer cranking up.

I went over to the operator and he told me a sinkhole happended on the other side of the backstop

He gave us a go to shoot as he had to first clear the road that lead to the backstop.

I do like the range there, but the last minute closings are a bit of a drag for there.
