    The Philadelphia fire marshal and police are investigating suspicious overnight fires and gunfire in what may be an escalation of a war between two tow truck operators.

    Hell, they could be like this area. The chief of police has a thing for the one tow company and won't let others tow in the area. (legal? I doubt it) He has gone as far as to make drivers from a different company take cars off their trucks at the scene of the accident so the one company can get the tow. Just let the gestapo decide who gets the tow...

    A 29-year-old man was hospitalized and in critical condition after he was shot while near his tow truck on Sunday evening.

    KYW’s Kim Glovas and Al Novack report that it happened near Front and East Silver Streets in Kensington, at about 7:30pm.

    Police say the driver of a “Straight Up” truck was shot four times in the back.

    Could've been completely unrelated to the towing business... but it also could have been retaliation for an unwelcome tow.

    A tow truck driver was killed early Sunday in Philadelphia's Kensington section after he was struck by another tow truck operated by a driver with whom he had argued, police said.
