Default Do you think we will ever get reciprocity in US territories?

If they benefit from our tax dollars, and they get the best of America, why shouldn't I have reciprocity for my LTCF in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands?

The Virgin Islands had at one time reciprocity for Virginia's license. ...not sure they still have that in effect. US VI's laws allow for reciprocity agreements.

I like the idea, but how about we get reciprocity in the STATES first, and then worry about Commonwealths and territories? I mean, we have reciprocity with a dozen or so states, but that's far from the entire union.

    Virgin Islands Temporary Permit

Persons with a valid Virginia concealed carry permit may apply individually to the United States Virgin Islands Police Department for temporary reciprocal recognition of a CCDW license while in the Virgin Islands. This temporary recognition is normally for ninety (90) days from the date of issue.

An application for temporary privileges may be requested from:

Carry will have to be allowed at some point, whether through reciprocity or getting a VI,PR,exc. carry permit. Interesting question, maybe you should contact John Thune and ask him to add all US states and territories to the National CCW bill next time he introduces it.

What are the carry laws like, and what is your vacation going to be like?

When I carried into virginia for a week+ vacation I ended up just keeping the gun locked up at the condo for a home defense role. You can only carry into a bar and drink if you're OC, and my vacation with my good friends consisted of alot of drinking. To the point where I was uncomfortable OC'ing. I only carried a handful of times when we just planned on going to non-alcohol serving places.

To top that off, the friend we were visiting is in the military, so between going on and off bases for various reasons, visiting historical military locations, and going into restaurants inbetween, carrying was more of a hassle than anything. It sucks.

    .
this changed first of the month. you can now cc in any place that serves alcohol as long as you don't drink.

The problem is we're there drinking and having the kind of vacation young men have. So CC'ing and not being able to drink doesn't help. It's better for Virginians than it was before, but it's still a restrictive law that serves no legitimate purpose.
