Received a letter from Rep. Lentz.
Hello everyone,
I received a letter today from Rep. Brian Lentz regarding my opposition to H.B. 2536.
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your letter in opposition to House Bill 2536. I appreciate
your thoughts on this legislation.
House Bill 2536 was scheduled to be voted in the Judiciary Committee
on Wednesday, June 30; however the vote was delayed, because we
decided to amend the language of the bill.
The new language states that notwithstanding the current laws of
reciprocity, an out of state permit held by a resident of this
commonwealth shall not be valid if:
1. The resident's Pennsylvania firearms licsensewas revoked
2. Theresident's application for a Pennsylvania firearms licsense
was denied or
3. The resident was arrested within the last five years for an offense
listed in section 6105( relating to persons not possess, use
manufacture, control, sell, or transfer firearms).

Re: Received a letter from Rep. Lentz.
1. And what if the revocation was overturned on appeal?
2. And what if the denial was overturned on appeal?
3. And what if the person was never convicted?
Why does he not want to recognize out of state licenses in situations that would not prohibit someone from holding an IN state license? If those factors present such a danger to society, they should be licensing prohibitors for all licenses, both in and out of state. Why would Representative Lentz intentionally create "the Pennsylvania loophole"?Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

My apoligies for leaving out some of the letter. Rep. Lentz states that this subsection shall not apply to persons whose firearms rights have been restored.

Re: Received a letter from Rep. Lentz.
I asked Lentz this very question face to face immediately following his news conference. He did not have an answer then, and he does not have one now. Arrest is his criterion, not conviction. I pointed out that people being arrested and not convicted was a DA problem, not a gun problem, or LEO problem. He did not care for my reasoning. I think it had something to do with him being a former DA.

Re: Received a letter from Rep. Lentz.
Dear Representative Lentz:
You may be surprised to discover that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is one of the United States, and has been longer than any other state except Delaware.
For that entire time, we have had a curious relationship with the law.
It seems that, from the time of its inception, the United States has proffered that an individual, when accused of a crime, has the right to face his accusers, observe and counter any evidence presented, with or without legal representation, and that that individuals guilt or innocence shall be decided by a group of twelve of his fellow citizens.
The way we describe this unique concept is 'INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY'.
Oddly enough, it is unconstitutional to deprive an individual of rights and privileges on the mere suspicion of impropriety.
May I suggest that you spend some time with any fifth or sixth grade Social Studies teacher in this Commonwealth to review this important concept?
Yours in Freedom,
WA3RA"...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

Re: Received a letter from Rep. Lentz.
Still does nothing to remedy the situation of Philly Sheriff's denying or revoking without cause by using the "character" clsue for bogus reasons.
That needs to be the key point to be hammered home.
