Golani Sporter Galil "GLN" receivers
From I've read about the Golani Sporter Galil's from Century, if I were to purchase one, my best bet would be to look for the receiver with the serial prefix of "GLN"? I believe that these are Caspian receivers.
Is there anything else that I should take into consideration and look for? I've wanted one for quite a while, but I have heard so many negative things about the CIA, Inc. Golani Sporters.
Thanks!

Not to be not helpful, but here are sites where this has been discussed with more focus;

Everytime I think back to leafing thru the Interams catalog in 1976 when I could've snagged a Valmet M76 for under $400.00 thru the BX - I could cry.
That Valmet would've been tits.
Fuck my life. I could kick a baby.All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

Arise dead thread, ARISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, did you ever get the Golani with the GLN prefix? How do you like it?
I've handled Golanis at funshows - they seemed solid, probably zero recoil.
Was also kind of interested in the Century C93 rifle, but haven't seen one up close and personal.All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

I picked one of these up about a year ago from classic, it has the GLN starting serial and the gun cycles no problem. The only thing I didn't like is the top receiver or dust cover was a real bear to get off.

Re: Golani Sporter Galil "GLN" receivers
Thanks for the info!
I've read that the covers were purposely tight given that they hold the rear sight. I'm surprised they didn't use a recvr lock like the Yugo...
Anyway, thanks for the input. These are interesting rifles, and now as affordable as the early 80's!
It's just a tough decision as to getting, what like a 9lb AK-action rifle that shoots .223?
That plus the unusual GAL vs. GLN debate... Maybe if a used GLN comes up.All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.
