    Default Hipoint 45 cal

Does anyone own one of these? For the cheap price, what is it like? Is it a "you get what you pay for" situation?
    Cabella's has them for $189.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't own one, or know anyone that has one, but this review is interesting and somewhat surprising:

$189 is way too much. Look around at local shops and you'll find a better price. I've seen them for $149 locally...

$189 is way to much for a 45 pistol?

While on business in Philly I saw a c9 for $245. I guess the LGD customers don't know how to do a web search or can't read.

$189 is way too much for a Hi-Point.

$150 is about all you should pay for a .45 ACP Hi-Point.

You should also note that buying a used Hi-Point is an excellent idea for one reason: warranty.

All Hi-Points have an unlimited lifetime warranty regardless of how many times it has changed hands. If the previous owner broke it, you buy it and it doesn't work? Send it to the factory to be repaired. From what I understand, not only does it not cost you to have it repaired, they even send you a free extra magazine back with the gun.

$189 is the list...you can get the black for $149 all over the place, and the slightly more expensive but slightly better looking chrome sides model for about another $20.

Used, they hold their value very well, I just sold one of my .380s with a case, a cheap ambi holster, two regular and one extended mag, a case and 50 rounds for $110; you could get the .45 used with two factory mags and no case for about $100.

They are like the Woolworth's of guns...they don't make much money on each one, but they sell s lot of them!

Every Philadelphia gun shop I've ever been in has had astronomical firearm prices. I don't know how those ripoff shops stay in business. I saw the same price for the C9 as you did. I could not get out of that store fast enough.

There are some Hipoints in the classified (new) in the low 100s. It caught my eye and I did some research. Surprisingly most of the people that own these guns are pretty happy with them. Now I just need to come up with a good reason to own one...
