My first OC today!
... ok so it was kind of pathetic - i just walked from where i was parked to the store and back - but kind of cool nonetheless. the only reason i did it though is because the LTCF i applied for 2 weeks ago hasnt come yet.
p.s. what a pain in the ass to transport your gun in a car without a license. hopefully it will come soon.
but yeah everyone seemed cool with it (although it was a gun store) and it was mildly liberating. also this is the first time i have carried a handgun in public at all, so that added to it. i think ill probably stick to CC for awhile until i get used to carrying more, then who knows

Re: My first OC today!
Umm... What you did is a illegal.
If you do not have a LTCF then you cannot transport your firearm anywhere but a few specified places. The gun range, a gun smith, to your work or home.
You cannot case up the firearm, transport it by vehicle to the grocery store and then OC when you get there.
If you walked to the store then fine, but otherwise.... illegal.
EDIT::: If I were you I'd delete the thread or atleast delete your story. You've incriminated yourself of a felony, I believe. I am not a lawyer.
EDIT #2:: I am a dipstick and somehow missed that he was transporting to a gun store, however I still believe that holstering up in the parking lot is a no no, if you don't have a LTCF.Last edited by PisnNapalm; July 13th, 2010 at 10:00 PM.

Check out 18 PA.C.S. § 6106 for transporting.

Re: My first OC today!
The gun shop in question could have an indoor range.
Just saying.

Whew... Ok... I don't know how I missed that when I read his original post. I read the post a couple times too before making mine.
I apologize to you, XACEX, for my being a dipstick, however I still believe that holstering up in the parking lot is a no no, if you don't have a LTCF. Can someone clarify this for me please? Thanks.Last edited by PisnNapalm; July 13th, 2010 at 10:01 PM.

Re: My first OC today!
Can you cite otherwise? He is able to transport the firearm from his house to the gun shop, and back to his house without a LTCF. Not to the gun shop parking lot, where he can then open carry as he pleases, and eventually go into the gun shop. It's a risk that is not worth taking, and IMO the law was broken.
OP, delete the thread. PM sent.Last edited by jcabin; July 13th, 2010 at 10:15 PM.
