Saiga
Anyone know of any shops that carry Saiga's in the greater Harrisburg/Lancaster/York area? I'm really itching for one, and would like to check one out in person before commiting to it.

Re: Saiga
What are you looking for, rifles or shotguns. I have both and the quality is the best out there. Original russian manufacturing. Alot of builders use them for conversions.

Re: Saiga
I also have a Saiga, a 7.62x51, and like it. Not that close to you, but Weavers on Rt715 in Brodheadsville carries them, had a least 4 when I was there Sunday.

Re: Saiga
Looking for one in 7.62x39. I'll have to swing by Stubby's some time. I've been hearing good things.

Re: Saiga
Ya if you were up closer to me I could reccomend a little shop that almost always has the rifles in stock. But Stubby is the only guy I can suggest down your way. I wasn't too impressed with the service at Freedom Armory down in Glen Rock. That's all the shopping I've done down that way.
course once you get it and want to convert it check the link in my sig line over to the Saiga-12 forum or drop me a lineThe resident Saiga snob

Re: Saiga
i have a question.
Are all the new russian imported ak rifles/receivers only called saigas?
meaning, if i bought a new russian ak 103type.
That was completly built up on a russian saiga receiver from the ground up.
Would it be considered a true russian ak?
or a converted saiga into a ak.
like this example.
http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/prog...asp?Prodid=278
or is saiga just a name for all new imported russian rifles/receivers?
is this the closest thing on the market today for a new russian built ak 103 type?Life and Liberty, Freedom for all.

Re: Saiga
Saiga receivers are made in the same factory that makes receivers for Russian Army AK's. They are the same, with the exception of the mag dimples and some markings. Some have even been imported with mag dimples.

Re: Saiga
and the extra rear pin holes, and the extra holes in the bottom where they riveted the cover over the original trigger hole, and the hole cut for the bolt holdopen.
other than that they are the same receivers
a saiga thats been converted to a AK103 is not a "real" russian AK, as it has US parts on it for compliance, but its as close as you are going to get."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH
