    Default Colt Mustang Pocketlite?

    I'm never a big fan of .380ACP.
But thats like the "it" now days on defensive pistol.
I figure I'll get one and see whats the all the jazz is about.

But I don't care for any of plastic framed mouse guns in market currently.
I do like Beretta 84's, but they are too big for .380.
Walther PK380 is great size, but don't sound all that reliable.

So I figure Colt Mustang Pocketlite would fill the bill.
I figured at least its Colt. So If I do not like it, well... its still Colt.

So whats people's opinion about these little miniture 1911 in .380ACP?

The mustang/government/pony are all fabulous .380's. I chose these over all of my ppk/ppks variants back when you could still buy them new from colt. Still usually carry a mustang in an ankle holster when needed. Never had any issues other then a magazine spring being loose. So I just bought a new mag. They all shoot well for their size and have very controllable recoil. The down side to them is they have not been produced since the late 90's and have dried up like the sahara. I have seen normal wear shooters go for 600+. A mint in box example can go for $800-1000. Good luck!

    The hell you say!
I just put down the deposit on the about 95%(had small scuff mark on front strap, and couple of spots on barrel hood), 1992 manufactured blued one with orignal manual, blue plastic box, AND cardbord outer box.
And it was NOWHERE near $1000, or $800. Not even $600... agreed price is much less then that!

Guess i got good deal on them then...

Only thing thats wrong with it is that it comes with only 1 magazine(Its original Colt mag at least tho. I think you can still buy magazine from Colt I imagin?)...

Under 600. with manual and box? you did dam good!

I have been carrying a Mustang pocketlite in a DeSantis nemesis pocket holster for about 5 years now and I love it!

The thing is quite accurate for a pocket gun and easy to shoot even when just point shooting. I had a problem a couple years back with destructive little critters and I got home one day to find 6 of them running from my garage. A quick draw in an attempt to send lead thier way hoping they would get the hint and not returned resulted in 3 of them meeting thier untimely death.

I have had a few tell me to replace the plastic guide rod but I still havent and I haven't had any problems with it.

I have a Pony. (DOA) I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of the Colt .380s, especially a "light" model. Sounds like a heck of a deal.
Is the seller a gun noob? How you found one for under $600 is a bit of a mystery, but good for you!

This is my primary carry gun. IWB 95% of the time and ankle carry the rest. The Colts are nice, solid handguns - feels like a "real" gun in your hand.

Great little pistols. I've owned two in the past and can honestly say they are the only pieces in my collection I regretted selling. Accurate, easy to conceal and can be fed anything.

No. seller isnt gun noob. I'm buying it from gunshop
Honest to god, its infact, less then $500. With box/plastic case/manual/one mag.
In case you guys thinking I'm pulling your leg, here is the invoice from the shop...

ha! for once, may be my funshop isn't ripping me off?(Kidding - They hook me up ALOT!)
I wasn't really thinking about buying anything. I went there to show off my 10/22 build, and they showed me the gun, and it was in great shape, with above mentioned box/case/manual. so I took it.
I figure its about time I add Colt something to my collection.

And my wife thinks I'm wasting my time to go to my local gunshop just hang out!

Not sure where you get the idea of a 380 being << it >>these days??? But if that's a fad I'll skip that, I will never carry any pistol smaller than a 9mm & I don't even do that 45ACP is for me. I carry a full size Raptor Custom 2. It's as easy to conceal as a Baby 1911. I realize it's bullit placement that count's but I want to place a Large Bullit if I have a true reason to fear for my/families life. One LARGE HOLE OR MAYBE A DOUBLE TAP. I don't see anything wrong with OVERKILL...GET'R DONE!!!! End of story!!!..PS: I would never carry a certian weapon because it's a fad, I'm carrying what make's me comfortable & don't care what make's other's follow other's!!! Lead don't follow

You definitely got a great deal too. My local shop just sold one that I would have rated at about 80% for $599. The last one I had was mint unfired and I got $950 for it on Gunbroker.
