Default Mailing Pellet guns in PA?

Are there any issues with mailing a pellet gun via USPS mail to another PA resident?

I'm selling mine and i just wanted to make sure there were no legal issues i wasn't thinking of.

    thanks!

Only restriction I'm aware of is that the recipient must be 18+ years.

ETA: There could be local restrictions that may apply.

yeah, i think i'm just going to arrange a FTF.

i see most online places won't ship to philly (not where the person is buying from, but still), and i've seen that local ordinances can even vary... i think i'll go the safe route with a FTF.

You are shipping sporting goods. As long as they are 18, and the item isnt outlawed (shooting them is most likey in the area, but not ownership) then ship away... USPS or whatever.

Remember... sporting goods. Helps if you can break it down in some way, like remove the action from a stock. makes shipping easier too.

In a lot of places, possession of air guns and even slingshots is against the law. Presumably to deter vandalism, and since they're not firearms state preemption does not apply.

that's what i was hearing too... enough so that we're just going through with a face to face to quell my paranoia. Trying to act within the word of the law can sometimes make your head spin

The ordinances here prohibit them but there is an exception . . .

§ 23-1 Possession or sale prohibited.

It shall be unlawful and it is hereby prohibited for any person, persons, firm or corporation to store, sell, offer or expose for sale at retail or have in their possession with intent to sell at retail or have in their possession on any public street, alley, place, yard or lot within the limits of the Township of West Goshen any air rifle or air pistol, commonly known as a "BB gun," "slingshot" or any similar device...

    § 23-3 Applicability.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to such offenses as can be prosecuted under the provisions of any state law nor shall they apply to guns or pistols having rifled barrels and being commonly used for target practice and the shooting of small game. For the purposes of this chapter, such articles shall be deemed to be a deadly weapon and subject to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with respect to the sale and use thereof.

Can you explain how you think that a FTF transaction is any different than mailing the gun if they're not legal in the recipient's local area?
