    Default About the M&P beavertail.

I hate the look of it and find it serves no purpose. I never get bitten by Glocks or XDs so I cant figure why I would by the M&P if it wasnt there. I think the dremmel is coming out later today. I was looking at pics on Dan Burwells http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/gallery.htm site and know I can ship it to him but I dont think there is anything more to it that dremmel and finish sanding. Does anyone have a reason why not to do it other than potential resale of the gun? Thanks, B

I had Dan do mine, but I also got a trigger job,had the slide blasted and had the grip textured. You could do it with a dremel though.

Are you close enough to him that you were able to drop off your gun? His prices are more than reasonable but the overnight shipping is the deal breaker for me. Also does the lack of beavertail affect the gun in any way?

i think the beaver tail helps on my draw. it's an index point for the web of my hand. makes quick draws from a competition holster work more quickly for me, but YMMV

Its gone. 24 minutes from the time I decided to find the dremmel to the time I put everything away.

The grip is fine for me. It helps me establish my grip on the holster. I feel it is slightly better over my H&K or Glocks of the past.
Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...

My compact doesn't have the beavertail and I'm fine with that. I've shot the full size and I could take it or leave it (the beaver tail that is)

I'd probally wack it off too.

I believe it was Lycanthrope who said "it's not a real gun until you take a dremel to it"

I'm about 5 minutes away from him.No it doesn't effect the gun in any way, unless you have very big hands. It could bite you then.

I like the looks and the feel of that beavertail myself.
