Default What to Loc-Tite for traing class?

Do you guys reccommn putting red loctite on every threaded part (optic mount, BUIS, etc) before taking a class?

Never use red, unless you want it to never come apart, at least without damaging whatever it is you put together. A more mild like purple or blue should be good.

I'd suggest blue loc tite. And i'd also suggest this even if you were not taking a class.

Whats involved with taking off a blue loc-tited(?) part? More force or heat?

Just a little more steady force to break it loose. As mentioned, don't use red.

    blue

what parts on what firearm are we taking about here?

On my AR for example the set screws for my FFT are loctited on, as is my Aimpoint to the mount. The mount is a DD lower 1/3 and the pressure on the screws squeezes the metal like a vise, its SOLID, its not loctited to the rail and has had no problems. I feel confident tossing it down a hill and it keeping zero.

All I really have thread-wise on the carbine (DDM4) is the rear irons and EOTech.

Depending on how well the blue cures, you could have between a little more force to remove, and a heatgun.

Red usually requires a torch or boiling.

Purple or green (I would have to check again) does well for vibration. What does aimpoint recommend? Best to ask them.

If your running a DD I doubt you have cheap knock off irons. I havent seen and tightened down irons come loose. Im not sure about the EO, you may want to put a drop on the screws on the mount just to be sure. Blue isnt hard to take off if you feel like changing optics or moving placement later.

The DDM4 actually ships with a nice, vickers approved, set of rear irons. They actually arent flip-up, rather fixed but removable. They seem like hey are on there really solid.
