22lr Match Ammo Choices
I just got into the 10/22 craze and I was running the wolf 40gr match. I was having no problems shooting less than an inch group at 50 yds with my basic 10/22 with a nikon 3-9x40 on it. My only problem is now I can't find it anymore. My dealer where I was getting from says his supplier is out and doesn't know when they'll be expecting more.
So my question is to all you 10/22 guys out there what match ammo are running through yours and where do you get it?

Re: 22lr Match Ammo Choices
SK of Germany actually makes the ammo for Wolf. I have Wolf MT and it shoots well out of my 22s, but the cheap Aguila SE subsonic gives me better groups with the 10/22 and other 22s. Aguila is a lot cheaper than Wolf MT or ME.
I still see Wolf being sold at most gun shops, so it's not that tough to find.
You might also want to try CCI subsonics as they shot pretty well.
Note that everything I listed above I shot through my suppressor.

Re: 22lr Match Ammo Choices
I don't have a 10-22, but I do have other .22 rifles and handguns. The best group I get from any of them is with Eley Sport. It's made in Mexico, it has a funny smell when you fire it, and it groups better than any other .22 ammo that I have.

Re: 22lr Match Ammo Choices
Match .22 RF ammo is tricky. You really need to find the right combination for your rifle. I shoot quite a bit of competitive smallbore prone with an an Anschutz 2013 and I find that my rifle shoots the high end stuff best...of course. So for matches I shoot Eley Black box SA or Eley Tenex. However for practice my rifle likes Fiocchi SM320 or SM340. Both those are much less expensive at about $6.00 per box of 50. The better Eley ammo is $10-$14 per box.
I have never seen a 10/22 that was precisoon enough to need the higher end stuff. Most simply do not have the accuracy potential to shoot groups in the ..1-.3 range at 50 meters. So I would suggest starting with either the Federal 711 and that runs about 2.70 per box of 50, or the Wolf Match target and Match Extra thos sell from $2.50 per box to 5.50 per box. Aubie is correct that SK Jagd does make the wold ammo for them and SK ammo is pretty darn good as they are owned by Lapua of Finland.

Re: 22lr Match Ammo Choices
my 10/22 likes Winchester T22 the best out of the ammo I've tried so far. I have not tried the expensive ammo in it yet. Here's some 25 yard, 5 shot groups I shot with the 6lb factory trigger still in the gun. I now have the trigger worked down to 2lbs
Here's what the rifle looks like

I shoot Wolf MAtch Target from my Anschutz bolt gun. My 10/22 however likes to eat whatever I feed it. It's not tricked out into a tackdriver though.
