Default Open carry & Lower Salford LEO

I decided to go out and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL weather we are having today, it being my day off and all. Me & my openly carried S&W M&P 9c went to wawa for coffee, Walmart for some supplies, and then I decided to go out and demonstrate . . . against obama!

I walked from my house to a major intersection nearby with a 4' x 3' sign that says "Obama, Socialist, Traitor, Honk to support!" After about an hour some guy drove by and shouted several profanities, threw a bottle at me half full of god knows what, and took off. Some nasty looking brown liquid...

I got his license plate number and decided to call the local police on the guy for littering. Two officers responded, were rather supportive of my effort, and explained that when they find the guy they will make him come back and pick up the bottle.

The only comment the LEO had about my firearm, was when he asked me if "I get many dirty looks open carrying?". Seemed like nice guys.

(In the two hours I was out demonstrating, Over 100 people honked, waved, smiled, and gave thumbs up for my sign, while about 15 either yelled profanities, or flipped me off... Why are obama fans so darned angry, and uncivilized?)

You spent 2 hours holding a sign insulting the President of the United States and ask why others are angry?

My late father, a very conservative and military man probably would have told you to lose the sign or get your ass kicked for being the traitor.

Respect the office, if not the man.

I'm no fan of Bush, but when in Europe a few years ago and a drunken Brit started insulting him, I let him go for a couple minutes but finally had enough and told him to move along or get thrown in the canal.

No one should have thrown anything at you, but if you're going to go out there and hold up inflammatory rhetoric on a sign, it should not be even slightly unexpected that you will get negative responses, no matter what issue it is or which side you're on.

Attributing those traits to solely to "lefties/liberals" is ridiculous.

he was respecting tho office, just not respecting the man.

my grandfather was a WWII Vet. and was the type that if a president got into office (like Carter) he would disrespect the man every chance he could, but would always respect the office.

He passed away right before 9/11/01. if he was alive today, you can bet your ass he would be out there everyday protesting this SOB we have in Office.

Hard to do, considering this nation hasn't really had any man worthy of being considered presidential timber since this guy...

The office does not make this country what it is, nor does the man. Freedom does, and if your father was the man you say he was, god rest his soul, then he would assuredly profess Obama to be the traitor of this country, not the O.P.

No, he would recognize him as the fairly and freely elected President of the United States. And he would keep his opinions to himself while he was in office.

The only way to truly respect the office is to round up Carter, Bush I & II, and Clinton, and execute all four on the Mall in DC. And while they're at it, tear down the Lincoln memorial and move the Jefferson memorial onto its spot. That would be a good start.
