Smile Taurus Gaucho- Keep or Sell?

    Hello all,

I pose another keep or sell dilemma. I purchased a new Gaucho when they first came out, but have yet to shoot it, as I was busy with other firearms and pursuits. I have since read both nightmare and love stories posted by disgruntled or enthralled owners. Since Taurus bailed on the product (but assures me that they still stand behind it), and since most of the posts were negative (as is the case with most owners who bother to write, I suppose), I am wondering if I should sell/trade it while it is still NIB. Once I fire it, it could take several hundred rounds to see if I have a gem or a lemon. I really do not want to lose any more in the transaction than I have to- I would be thrilled to break even or get a quality used piece.

Any thoughts on this gun would be appreciated.

Thank You all and shoot safely!

It is obviously not doing anything for you now, I would dump it.

Post details of it. Mine shoots well but had some issues early on with the retaining pin on the cylinder.

I agree - you are not likely to get what you put into it. I bought mine brand new (5.5" stainless) for $299 from CDNN back in 2008. I dont think you are likely to get that.

    Thanks guys,

I do not have any real details since it still looks terrific in the box and has a REALLY smooth action. The only thing I can notice is that from what I can see of the transfer safety bar, it covers about half of the firing pin, not all, but DOES make solid contact.

I guess I'll mull it over some more...
