Default Ruger P95 concealed carry question

My girlfriend just bought me a Ruger P95 for my birthday, awesome pistol, and I have my concealed carry, does anyone have any experience with concealing one of these, I have a cheapo holster now, but anyone out there know of a nice holster for it, and the gun in general, is there anything to worry about keeping a round chambered? ps. new to concealed carry, this is my first pistol

I concealed one, on a daily basis, for about a year. Good holsters make a difference. Not trying to plug too much, but I have a comp-tac holster in the classifieds. I always carried mine with round in chamber and hammer down, with safety disengaged, so that I could shoot first shot double action. Never had any problems. Never carried hammer cocked since you couldn't lock it cocked. I switched out for a 1911 couple months ago though.

awesome, thanks for the response! If I can find one of those holsters at my local shop to try it out I may be interested in it. When I got the gun I just grabbed a cheapo nylon one, it holds it well enough, but its a little tricky on the draw, or I just need more practice haha. Thanks again!

ps. How'd you like your P95?

Go get some training. It is worth more then money.

Having a gun is just one part of the puzzle to self defense. Knowing how to use it, what the laws are that govern self defense and bearing arms and methods to actually carry it are another.

What he said. Just having a gun and being able to carry it doesn't amount to jack shit if you don't know how to A. properly use it, and B. act in a self defense situation. Get some training.

Also, I can tell you right now you won't be able to find the holster discussed above in a local store. Internet only.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys, I've been studying up on all the laws surrounding carrying, and am planning on taking a class as soon as some time frees up from work. Can you guys recommend any classes in the south hills area of Pittsburgh?

I carry mine daily with a loose button down shirt in warmer months in owb holster. If I'm traveling light I carry my Beretta Bobcat .25acp. BUT if I'm traveling to the city or some where ify you better believe I have my 9mm with a spare mag. I also carry a SOG Trident tanto combat folder.

Crossbreed for IWB but they are expensive. Look into Kholster they will make one for you IWB for $50. I have a P95 and it is my favorite 9mm. Reliable accurate and tough as nails. Give it 200rnd to break in. Good luck, be safe.
