1911 kit+build info ?

i'm thinking on just building a 1911 instead of buying one...i just found out when it comes to 1911's i have expensive taste...i'm not surprised cause its the same way with my beer and liquor lol...anyway my question is, with the kits, does it require parts to be cut and fitted, or will every part fit right in like a puzzle ? also are there any do's and don'ts...i would like as much info as i can receive

everything needs fitted to everything else and it all works together. Its not a project for the faint of heart.

Pretty much everything needs fitted on a 1911. Some of the parts are easy, others require an experienced hand.

A while back I looked into a 1911 kit.

For the same amount of dough, one could purchase a factory/semi custom fully assembled pistol.

Unless you are really hung up on building a 1911 from the ground up with a handful of cash to spare, I would recommend buying one.

It does seem like it would be fun, though. What always stops me is milling the slide rails in the frame. I dont have a mill.

thanks for the help i just watch a couple of youtube videos and im thinking im better off buying one then replacing one with more quality parts then maybe i can get the tools up to build one
