Remington 870s are pretty cheap and they're classy looking guns. You can pick up a 7 shot 870 with an 18 1/2" barrel for $379 at Gander Mountain and I've seen them at Dick's for the same price. Here's a photo of mine with a Hogue pistol grip.



Benelli Nova Tactical 12 gauge . . . Bought it new for $399. These photos are about $200 later though.





You can fire slugs with either of these for big game hunting and the Benelli is chambered for 3 1/2" shells so you can do anything with it. Light target loads, buckshot, slugs . . .

Remington 870. If you do it right, you can get exactly what you want in the neighborhood of $200...

Remington 870 Express, 26" or 28" barrel, Improved Cylinder choke - about $300 brand new, sometimes as low as $270.

Then get yourself a rifled slug barrel for about $100.

Done.

Definitely Agree! Can't go wrong with a gun that's been in production for so long. And go with the 28" barrel if you're doing a lot of trap shooting

+1 for Benelli Nova. But you can't go wrong with a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870.
