I've got three uncles that have seen a puma here in Jefferson and Elk counties. None of them are bullshitters, all are outdoorsmen who know what critters look like. Two of my dad's brothers were returning to their log skidder one morning somewhere in Elk Co for a day's work about 12 years ago, there was one laying under the skidder. They got within 30ft of it.

Then my mom's brother that lives just 4-5 miles outside of Brookville saw one stroll through his back yard, less than 75 from his house, not just once - but a couple times. He did report the sightings but was told that no puma exist in the wild in PA. He fully intends to kill it and place it on the courthouse steps here in Brookville the next time he sees it.

It's been the same thing for years knight. Just like they weren't manipulating the coyote population for years...

While a mountain lion is de facto a protected species according to PA's game laws, I will gladly pay the fine, lose my hunting privileges, and have to re-take a hunter safety course to nail a mountain lion... lol I would drive it around town on the roof of my truck shooting video the whole time... lol

That pic is a large housecat, probably a tom. I can see some tabby stripe in the tail too. Using the surrounding features for scale, that is NOT a cougar. And don't try to play that it's a cub, they have distinctive spots and do not look that lean and lithe.

+1 Thank you. heck you can compare the size of that housecat to the tiger lillys. And these same folks that think that pic is a cougar still insist they and thier families seen them.

Listen the PGC has 700 employees and many more than that retired, you can bet even a few of them are disgruntled, If there was a conspiracy on Coyotes or Cougars you can bet that one of them would have come forward over time, Its the PGC for heavens sake not the CIA.

There are no mountain lions in PA either.
My neighbor took this picture a couple days ago just a mile or two from us.....

As already stated that's clearly a house cat.

That is pretty crazy that you saw that. I've seen a few bobcats around. Maybe two or three in the past two years.
