Default Radnor Township Commissioners Meeting Tonight 6-21 7 PM

Does anyone want to join me at the Radnor Township Commissioners meeting tonight? Since I notified them of their preemption violation (no firearms in township parks) a couple months ago, I haven't been able to return for a follow up.

Curiously enough, look at one of the agenda items for tonight.

    I. Introduction of Ordinance 2010-26 Award of Contract for Park Signs -- Emlen Tunnell and Clem Macrone Park (DCED Grant)

Looks like two new signs are coming. If the signs contain park rules, it would be a good time to make sure it correctly reflects the changes they have to make.

The meeting starts at 7 pm. I plan on arriving between 7:30 & 8:00.

Not good. Your heads are going to explode when you hear what the township solicitor said. Typing on my phone right now. I'll update when I get home.

Probably some crap about the park being regulated like private property.

Can we say Private Criminal Complaint?

Ok, I'm home. I approached the mic and introduced myself and stated I was here to follow up on the preemption violation I brought up several months ago. Board President Nagle thought I was talking about the lost/stolen proposed ordinance.

After refreshing his memory, he seemed to recall my issue about firearms in the parks. The solicitor John Rice then chimed in and basically said that as far as he knows there is nothing wrong with the township ordinance as written. He sees no problem with it.

I informed him that not a single township that has been approached about the same ordinance has refused to amend it "after further review." President Nagle then asked for me to forward him and the rest of the board more information regarding the violation.

I will be gathering information about similar cases from our site that have been corrected across the state. I also informed them that Bill Lamb, solicitor for neighboring Tredyffrin Township amended their ordinance after it was brought to his attention.

The video should be uploaded on the Radnor Township website by tomorrow evening. There is a guy who usually uploads it onto You-Tube in several segments for easier viewing. For those of you that find it, I approached them around 10:05 pm, approximately 3 hours into the meeting.

Uwchlan township fixed their signs within a week of being notified about the issue.

Can't wait to watch the video! I'll try to make it for the follow up meetings, GL23.

Thanks anonymouse. I need to gather other examples to send them too. I still can't believe what Rice said though.
