Default Sub $400 Present to Myself

As the title suggests, I am looking for a new pistol in the $400 range. Preferably below to leave more money for ammo/holster/etc. But I was looking for some opinions, hopefully at least one of you has one that you would like to share.

Anyway, I'm looking for something in the size range of a Glock 19, that isn't a Glock (they don't fit me). I already have a CZ RAMI, so I'm covered in the subcompact category.

Since I already had a CZ (and love it), I naturally started looking at the CZ P-07, which comes in just over the $400 mark...but I can swing the price range a little if need be. In the same size/price range seems to be the SR9, and you get an extra round. Does anybody have any personal experience with both of those? (Or, name your favorite.)

    Thanks!

I was able to buy a used CZ 75B for $350 that I am extremely impressed with. I haven't been able to find a second one, so if anyone has one they'd like to sell I need a back-up.

This is a good option. Especially since you already have a pistol. If you really want a good glock-ish pistol that isn't a glock for under $400 the first thing that pops into my mind is

Steyr....more grip angle than the Glock......thinner grip......fully supported chamber......trapezoid sights.......angled rails.......Tennifer finish (same as Glock)

    I could go on....

I will definitely look into that. I can honestly say I've never seen one in person. that being said, I've never really looked.

And about the G19 comment, I was more thinking size, weight, and capacity (and hopefully reliability).

G19's are great for all that.

$400 will get you a good gun, but IMHO an extra $50-$100 can get you something much better. It's amazing how much of a difference a hundred bucks can make.

But if I had to buy a gun on the cheap I'd go for the styer.

i own a ruger sr9 and would trust my life and anyone elses life that needed it with it... ive got close to 2k through it with all types of ammo from 115 gn to 147s... the sights are decent and if your a righty your covered with everything else right now... if your left handed i would suggest looking at another gun as there arent many accessories out there yet for the left handers...

it shoots damn accuratly from 25 yards... i think my best from a rest was around 3.5" group of 5... in close you can cut out a hole the size of an apple with no problems... it eats everything on this earth.... takedown is the easiest thing on earth.... and cleaning is pretty straight forward.... had about 500 rounds through it before i decided to clean it to see if i could get it to jam..... nothing... i have nothing but good to say about it.... it makes me want the sr9c now....

save a little more and get a sa xd9mm sc. I've got over 10,000 rounds and while I had one issue ( a trigger spring after 7,000+) sa paid to fix it shipping and all! my favorite gun ever.
